I hope you have been enjoying the photo’s I have been uploading, been loving seeing all the reblogs and notes each time. I have been living being able to continually update from wherever I am.
I’m in Chile now for the 3rd stop on the 2012 GSS world tour and it’s been pretty damn swell so far. I’m staying in a great place called Casa Boutique de Beltran which is owned by an amazing lady who treats us like absolute kings each year. I’m bunking up with Jeff Hubbard and Mark McCarthy , who are both great easy - going guys which makes all the difference.
The waves have been epic so far, as I’m sure you have seen and we have been taking every opportunity to surf at el gringo, the contest wave , which is really difficult to ride. 4 guys have gotten pretty hurt so far and the main event hasn’t even started.
Arica isn’t a very fast paced city and thus perfect for a healthy lifestyle leading up to a competition, in the way that you can eat well and when you please, relax and have the time to stretch/workout so that when game time comes your mentally an physically prepared for the task at hand.
The trials will finish tommorow and 6 riders will join the top 24 in the GSS “showdown” event starting Tuesday. It’s going to be a show no doubt, make sure you stay tuned to www.ibaworldtour.com/live aswell as follow me at @houston_jared on twitter to get all the latest news.
